Experiencing Art in Costa Rica
Originally from the rurals of Missouri in the United States, I am spending a semester in Monteverde, Costa Rica to study. My school, The Cloud Forest School, is where the inspiration came for this project. My language class here is focussing on social issues around the world; from reforestation in Costa Rica to LGBTQ rights everywhere. Each one of my compañeros has a worthy, amazing cause and is working towards battling an injustice.
My cause is social art and the beautiful difference it can make in our world.
I have been amazed by the beautiful pieces of art that surround us here. My mission is to find as many pieces of art around me as I can and share them here. I encourage others to do the same on my page- The Community of Shared Art. I believe some part of all of us is an artist- dance, doodle, decorate, do your thing- and then share!
As Maria Popova once said, ¨This is the power of art: The power to transcend our own self-interest, our solipsistic zoom-lens on life, and relate to the world and each other with more integrity, more curiosity, more wholeheartedness.¨
Here´s a few that I managed to upload so far. More to come jut as soon as my camera cooperates! -Renay

Around the pile of constuction and work equiptment, there peeks a bright blue sky. Perhaps the bike and precaution tape are even temporarily part of the art now.

Outside the Frog Pond is a giant mural of these colorful ¨ranas¨, sure to catch our eye.

Even the building itself it art, as this giant tree reaches out from the center of this restuarant. When it rains, the rain comes in, blocked only by the natural canopy of the leaves, but this just makes it more lovable.
